TLM CoP meeting of 9 April 2025

The USAf community of practice for the Teaching and Learning of Mathematics (TLM CoP) had its first meeting of the year on 9 April 2025, under the new leadership of Dr Jakes Maritz (Nelson Mandela University) and Prof Judah Makonye (University of the Witwatersrand). There were thirty (30) members attending from various universities, and some members were attending for the first time. The topic for the meeting was ‘The first year mathematics experience – challenges and success.’ The TLM CoP has been invited to participate in the Mega Maths Conference at the University of the Western Cape that provides training and information sharing to Mathematics Teachers with a focus on Strengthening teaching, learning and research across the South African ecosystem.
