Innovative provision of clean electricity to informal settlements

Summary of the impact:
PeCo Power Pty Ltd, a spin-off company from Wits University, has been established to provide affordable and clean electricity to low-income households in informal settlements. This has improved the quality of life in a settlement close to Ermelo with reliable safe electricity. The provision of electricity has also enabled local manufacturing to create jobs and revenue flows throughout the value/supply chain.
