Cooperation and Collaboration – Mapping Sustainable Development Goals

By working together, institutions can address local and global challenges such as the sustainable development goals, pool expertise, and offer diverse learning experiences for students and faculty. Collaboration also strengthens local and international partnerships, increases funding opportunities, and contributes to the development of a more innovative and globally competitive higher education system

A recent outcome of this focus area is the South African Universities – Mapping the Sustainable Development Goals report, based on a USAf-commissioned study in…

Invitation to join Open Access Week Webinars

Theme: Who Owns Our Knowledge?

Universities South Africa (USAf) is hosting Brief Webinar sessions on 23 & 24 October 2025 during the international, Open Access Week (OA2025).

These webinar sessions brought together thought leaders, researchers, and policymakers to reflect on how we create, share, and control knowledge, and how we shape a more open, just, and sustainable knowledge ecosystem for South Africa.
