DHET_ 2015_Statistics on Post-School Education and Training in South Africa.
a) In 2015, the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) system comprised 26 public Higher Education Institutions
(HEIs), 50 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and 9 Community Education and
Training (CET) colleges.
b) The private PSET system consisted of 124 private HEIs (registered with the Department) and 252 private colleges
(registered with the Department), in 2015.
